It's true! bigdaddyrob2g is releasing it. He already sent a PM to me, asking whether I want to beta-test it or not! So hold tight. He has one beta-tester so far though, if you want to beta-test contact him!
(notices his second hard drive finally reformatting and deleting the last of leopard).....

I've already posted a fairly thorough instruction set previously on this thread for 10.5. You may want to check it out.

I can't get past step 3 of your instructions. The install DVDs I've tried do not show me the hard drives on this system. Would you mind having a look at my thread (for the details)? Thanks.

I used the ToH release. I see you tried it, but were you booting off a SATA DVD drive?
As far as seeing the hard drives. From 10.4.8 I remember I set my RAID to off in the bios. I suggest doing the same. Also, there are two SATA ports that do not show up in OS X. I could take a picture of mine if you'd like.

I tried a SATA DVD drive first. Then a USB-IDE converter hooked up to an IDE drive. Could boot all the way to the installer but then it wouldn't see my hard drive. ToH RC2.
Which two SATA ports don't show up? A picture would be great, but if you know the numbers that would be fine too.

Dec 6 2007, 05:31 AM
see attached image.
I believe the bottom 2 are the ones that do not show up. The orange cables go to my DVD drives, one doesn't show up in OS X. The red goes to the HD that I boot from.
Hope this helps,
Drew

peart75.
using port 4 and 5 results here in my system that i cannot use them in osx.
i have 2 hd's on blue like you. then on port 2 and 3 have my both optical drives.
on 4 i have my windows disc. so apple cannot use it and windows boots fine

5 is empty.
so do not use port 4 and 5 in osx cause they wil not work without edditing some stuff in apple ahci.

it's because I'm using the EFI patch v5.1
see
http://netkas.org/?p=13I just bought a cheap Netgear Ethernet PCI card and use now Leopard as my primary OS on my Dell!
has anyone been able to fix the shut down problem? I think that I read in another forum that it's the ACPI kext which does not suport properly the Quad Core CPUs and the OS only turns off 2 cores..

The same on C2D but after i reinstalled patched ACPI kext with vanilla looks like sleep and shutdown works. But my comp is running 24/7 so i haven't tested it well. And it says DELL DXP... because of different AppleSMBIOS.kext in 5.1. I think that 5.2 was patched to say Mac ProAnd I agree with mrjoe. Beta would be better than nothing. I'm getting a little bit nervous

Hey guys, I'm new to mac, but am smart with PC/Linux. How is everyone getting thier audio cards in thier Dell XPS 410's to work? Are they using Taruga's AppleHDA Solution? Also, does anyone have a clue how to get ATI x1650pro 512MB PCIe graphics cards to work with this PC? I've been using PC_EFIv8.0 in Leopard and it's working great! Anyone else having any luck with this version PC_EFI? If you're using a different version, is there a reason you're using it (besides: I just haven't gotten around to it). I just don't fully understand the process of installing drivers in Leopard. I've read a bunch of forums, but all I can find are links to the patches or instructions telling me to just use it. Well, how do you use it?
Any help on the ATI x1650pro and the Sigmatel HDA in Leopard would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
BTW, my Dell is:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.67GHz
4GB Ram
2 * 250GB Seagate SATA HD
ATI x1650pro 512MB PCIe Video Card
Using Realtek RTL8139/810x
Philips DVD-R DROM 6316TS
TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653A
SigmaTel HDA
All card readers being recognized
Using ToH Leopard RC2
PC_EFIv8.0
Following BigDaddyRob2g's guide for installing Leopard on Dell XPS 410 that he gave Timeshifter and it worked great, only I used the newest versions of every patch. I just can't get the Audio or the Video to work.
BigDaddyRob, you rule!
If someone can dumb down the driver installation process for me regarding the Sigmatel Audio and this ATI x1650pro, I'll make a "dumbed-down" how to guide describing how this dumb-mac user was able to pull off my install. Maybe it will prevent further newbs like me from asking so many questions.
Thanks again!
