You will have to buy 10.4.x system and the again buy 10.5.x ...so just wait for Leopard (10.5) and buy that...

nah osx 10.3.x is a different version of osx than what 10.4.x the last number is like a service pack revison
sorta like windows xp service pack 2 and windows 2000 but osx is heaps btter
