I tried Callisto (006), koverg patch and 9700 kexts. I get my X1400 card recognized by Callisto, my laptop monitor is known as LCD monitor.
The problem is I get no QE and CI. I can see right resolutions, but if I try to change the resolution using Display Manager it hangs. If I try to put "graphic mode" in com.apple.boot.plist it freezes with login Window. (at cmd - terminal window)
If you think I should try something else, please let me know over PM, or MSN (gregor@trzic.net)

Wait, wait, wait!!!!
You've just said you could see the correct resolution, yeah? Does it mean that you saw some video modes in "Display" tab, but you couldn't choose them without system halt?

Hi John j. daniels,
you said that your 5562wxmi works fine beside x1400. I own the same laptop but apart form wifi which doesn't work at all, I have problem with lan. Following the indication in the forum I got the nic but mac address still is 00:00:00:00:00 and the router I use doesn't assign a valid ip to nic so I cannot use the network at all.
Can you give me some advise ?
thanks

QUOTE(sicboy @ Sep 6 2006, 04:14 AM)

the router I use doesn't assign a valid ip to nic so I cannot use the network at all.
Go to System Preferences -> Network and select your LAN device.
Go to TCP/IP and select "Configure IPv4:" and set to "Using DHCP with manual address"
Set the IP to an address that is within the range of the DHCP of your router.

Yes, I can see the right resolutions (apearently it reads it from the card or LCD). But if I choose one from the list in Display Manager, my comuter shows blue vertical bars and freezes. Also if I put "Graphics mode"="1280x800x32@60" in apple.Boot.plist system hangs at the end, where should login window appear.
If you have any suggestion or question... Please do contact me, or write in here.
I will put a screen print later on.

Hi gregor! Unfortunately I coudn't talk to you yesterday evening, because I was not at home. By the way, your results are great and now I think that we have the same problem as the cyclonefr and others.
I hope you remember that those guys could get the correct resolution but they got it at the external display only. May be you should try to connect an external display to your laptop and see the result? I think that driver can't find or it can't see an internal display as a display which have a non-VESA resolution, such as 1200x800, therefore when you attempt to change a resolution it has a very big problem.
One more thing - could you make a photo from your screen when you've got a system halt and send it to me or upload somewhere?
Thanks, John.

Yo, it is worthless to take picture. Now when I change resolution it just turns black, no vertical bars or anything. Unfotunaly I can not connect it to external VGA since I do not have any display availible.
How to force my nootebook LCD to be recognized by the system? In Win XP I have read EDID information and I can see it is recognized as a Phillips LCD.
Any idea?

Hi gregor!
I don't know exactly, but I heard sometimes about a procedure or method to manage the EDID. It seems it was on callisto site. Have you looked there for solution?
Why do I ask you - because I don't know what does EDID mean and what does it need for.... Sorry... :-)
