I got an empty g5 dual case. But i got some
more problems than you...
The motherboard i want to fit in there is an
Intel Desktop Board D975XBX Rev 3.04
Bad Axe and a Core 2 Duo E6600
(will arrive soon i hope) and a Thermaltake
Sonic Tower (Fanless) cpu
cooler with a 12x12 cm 750rpm fan on it...

I got no idea on how to
make usable the first pci-express x16 slot... For the psu too i got
some problems... If anyone can guide me through all of this stuff
without cutting too much things i'll be eternally grateful.
Please, help me if you can...

Bye and many thanks smile.gif

PS: I'll try to upload some hi-quality photos later... then if some1
can edit this pictures to guide me where and what to cut then
send me back these edited pictures... And obviously if i'll be succesful
i'll post the results smile.gif

Hi,
I searched in Google for your motherboard...
I suppose that you can use the second or the third PCI Express slot instead of the first without any problem... Probably you have to set it from Bios...
The only problem is that the 2nd and the 3rd slot are only x8/x4 and not x16 like the first.

One Primary PCI Express* x16 (electrical x16 or x8) bus add-in card connector
One Secondary PCI Express* x16 (electrical x8) bus add-in card connector
One PCI Express* x16 (electrical x4) bus add-in card connector

To place the mainboard I suggest to you to cut the original screws of the G5 that don't match with the holes on your mainboard and to use a diy mainboard rack mount.
I found these images on Google...

For the PSU I used the original Apple PSU box. I modified it by putting inside an ATX PSU (Enermax).
It's not so simple and above all you will spend a lot of time to do a great job but by this way you don't have to cut the case and you can place the PSU in its original location.

The main difficult however are the mainboard outputs...
Even in this case I didn't cut anything... I used some internal cables to match the mainboard ports and the original outputs on the case...

I will wait for some pictures...
Bye
