Full Version: installing 10.4.6 on HP Pavilion DV8230ca

i have installed OSX 10.4.6 on my HP DV8230ca notebook. osx starts fine however i cant seem to get my network/wireless, and my sound card to work. both my nic and wireless cards are by intel, but my sound card is by conexant. any help would be appreciated.

similar configuration with you, mine is dv2000, but so far, as i know, there are no sound card driver for HD conexant, anyone can check this out for us would be appreciated !!! ^^

search here for posts about dv8000t, it's the same hardware I guess.

and installing Mac.OS.X.Tiger.10.4.6.X86-HOTiSO

but everything stop when i was trying to "Erase" the OSX partition to mac format@@..
it says"error cant map partition bah bah bah"..

Can anyone help me? 1000 thanks!

Might be a little late but I had the same problem, its caused by the onboard recovery hp supply no idea why but if you create backup disks and delete the "recovery partition it will work"

On my HP DV2000 I deleted the recovery partition and the hidden 'quick play' partition and then it installed fine. I was getting the 'cannot write to partition map' error previously.

Can't get the MacVidia drivers as their website is knackered at the moment.
Also having the same probs with Conexant HD audio, and obviously no wlan because it's the intel 3945ABG.
