I don't know if it's the correct section, but I want to say you that OpenDarwin has gone away.
The project has been closed by OpenDarwin team just yesterday.
Goodbye Darwin, that you can rest in peace.

I think Darwin should stay open source. I have a feeling I know why Apple is doing it, but I don't think they should.

OpenDarwin and Darwin are separate entities. OpenDarwin was a project to make Darwin into a standalone OS along the lines of any other BSD or Linux variant. Darwin itself is the core of Mac OS X.

Ah, I didn't know that. I always thought Darwin was open-source.

Darwin is OpeSource.

OpenDarwin is a communauty made to contribute on Darwin.

And the kernel of Darwin has never been closed by Apple.

I think you should take a look at this:
http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/

It's the sourcecode for Darwin.
