I think Darwin should stay open source. I have a feeling I know why Apple is doing it, but I don't think they should.

OpenDarwin and Darwin are separate entities. OpenDarwin was a project to make Darwin into a standalone OS along the lines of any other BSD or Linux variant. Darwin itself is the core of Mac OS X.

Darwin is OpeSource.
OpenDarwin is a communauty made to contribute on Darwin.
And the kernel of Darwin has never been closed by Apple.
