i am thinking about adding a Netgear WG311T wireless adapter to my system.

can i just put it in, reboot and it will recognize it as an airport? or do i need to reinstall osx86?

Hey... it's a Mac! As with any mac hardware, just put it in and enjoy guitar.gif

I also installed a wg311t card. One thing to keep in mind, at least on my JaS 10.4.6 install i had to use a 10.4.5 IO80211Family.kext file instead of the one on my system for OSX to recognize the card.

hello

i've heard that the airport uses a broadcom chip. on an other site, i read it uses a atheros chipset.

will this wg311T card be recognized as airport then? any sucess stories?

read my previous post, i use the same card but had to use the IO80211Family.kext on JaS 10.4.6 for the card to be recognized, it shows up as Airport.

mine works flawlessly. recognized as airport.. even the menubar works.

you may have to do the en0>en1 trick.
