I'm a huge Halo fan and want to make maps on my new Mac Mini Core Duo.
First of all, I downloaded the Halo demo and played it - ran 'kinda' fine but I know that the single player is going to have HUGE slowdowns.
I e-mailed the developer of Mac Halo and they told me the universal binary is in the works.
In the mean-time, I bought Halo PC and have installed boot camp to play it - but it still runs horrendously slow..
I have a stock Mac Mini Core Duo with 512MB RAM, 2GB is in the post to me as we speak though
The questions I have are:
1. Will the ram upgrade make a big difference, or am I experiencing poor performance because the Mac Mini GPU is awful? (Speculation - honestly, I don't know how good/bad it is)
2. Which version will be best? I can make my maps on the Windows version of Halo but to be honest, I'd like to get into multiplayer gaming on my Mac - and I really dislike Windows XP.
3. I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times - but any ideas when the UB for Halo will be released?
4. Is there anywhere where I can get more information on the Mac Mini GPU so I can understand more about what it can and can't do?
5. Is there any way of allocating more ram to the graphics card, in the way that Windows allows? Limiting the GPU to 64MB under OS X is quite a limitation..
Thanks in advance!
