Well, I just spent the last 3 hours porting AbiWord. It was damn hard, but it's working, and you can get it
here.
In fact, I didn't have to change a single line of code, but AbiWord's build system is so badly built that it was almost impossible to get everything right.
Enjoy it, I sure hope it was worth all this damn trouble. Well, at least you can now use a native word processor without X11.

Good work. This is the only fast, and free word processor running on osx86.
I think Mellel is the greatest, and its also unibin now, but unfortunatly shareware.

Pu7o:
I was wondering if it is possible to get the newest version (2.4.6) compiled? That would be great, and thanks a lot for this one, is much better than the PCC version posted at abisource.

Hi Pu7o:
Thank you so much for making this port.
I was using NeoOffice 2.1 Intel but that program is much larger (more like replacement for Microsoft Office) and took much longer to load. AbiWord Universal loads in couple seconds (!) I've used AbiWord in Windows and Linux and liked those versions.
I'm making this my default Application for opening and editing Microsoft Word documents.

Here is a mirror for Abiword 2.4.4 (intel):
http://www.mediafire.com/?5qybmnwqiedThe newest version of Abiword is
2.6.4 ...Hopefully there will be a Mac (intel or UB) version, too.

Please rebuild abiWord (latest version).
I've tried but without success
