thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif thumbsup_anim.gif Working with correct percentage remaining or time remaining on Toshiba Satellite M-55 with Celeron. Thank you so much. I needed this!!!

works like a charm keithpk! Thanks!

IBM Thinkpad X41

Installed the bundle referenced in keithpk's first post and it seems to work fine on my Thinkpad T60p 2623-DDU. The menubar icon correctly switches from battery to AC, and both the percentage and estimated time are displayed while on battery. The calculation for "time until full" while charging does not seem to work. Actually, I'm not sure if the battery level is updated while on AC at all (which would explain why it can never calculate the time-to-charge).

However, it works well while on battery power, which is the important thing.

Darwin t60p 8.8.1 Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.1: Sat Dec 9 22:18:27 AZOT 2006; semthex:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386
MaidenFan
Have downloaded and installed it, nothing happening with my Acer Aspire 5630.

System profiler shows the battery, but the information is patchy, example being the amperage is shown as zero and the AC Charger information is shown as zero watts, and always connected and charging.

Any suggestions guys?

Works for me on a Dell Inspiron 8600 (PM 1,6ghz with Radeon Mobility 9600 Pro).
Battery icon is showing well.

Problem is that the sleep function hangs.
Whenever i close my LCD or choose the sleep function of mac, my system freezes.
I just can't get out of it.

Somebody had any solution for it ?

Thanks in advance wink.gif

For me this has never worked with or without power management. I just avoid using sleep mode. Also had to turn all energy saving features off because otherwise my Mac freezes after being idle for some period of time.

Hi !

It seems to work perfectly on my Acer 5632 !

Thanks for the good stuff smile.gif

Don't work after updating to 10.4.9. Maybe because of removing AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext?
Mr. Green
Works great on my inspiron 8500 sse2 10.4.9 8.9.1 kernel BUT: When i boot my laptop on battery, the processor is recognized as 1ghz slower than it should be, and the computer runs slow. But the worst thing is that the computer's sense of time is messed up. The clock in the corner runs about 5 times the speed it should, and animations are out of control. Bouncing dock applicaitons look like jackhammers! Again, this is only when running on battery.

If anyone has any ideas, that would be great. The slowness of the computer is ok, but the sped-up graphics are unbareable.

Thanks
ViennaL
It does NOT WORK on my Acer TM 3002

It still says calculating BUT
if I remove the battery it tells me "No Batteries available"

that tells me that it sees the battery but cannot read capacity or calculate time.
How can i fix this? Any ideas? It must be only a short hack away from success.

Please write back mellow.gif
ViennaL
sorry for pushing but this is the only thing that does not work on my hackintosh at the moment.

A friend told me that there are other bundles and kexts available for getting a battery status - where can i find them?
How can i "grep" battery information in command line? sysctl?
-iCE!HACKER-
thanks a mil dude for such a neat job & it works on my compaq persario m2000 greate

I have some problems on my acer 5683.

First, It doesn't calculate the charging time correctly (the battery is still charging but the icon says "battery full".

Second, When i unplug the battery, it still thinks there is a battery connected although it says "no batteries available". This doesn't allow energy saver to switch to "power adapter" settings.

I wish i could help the programming of a good working version, but i am just a meteorologist.

what happens if you unplug the battery? Does the "power" icon apear?

I found another problem. It doesn't work with the AppleACPIPlatform.kext from version 10.4.10. I think somebody should make a tutorial to teach us what changes did to the code so we can try build our own version of PowerManagement.bundle.
ViennaL
yeah i tried to open it with Xcode but although I can code Java and pascal i thought ... what the {censored}! *g*
No Idea where to start ... i think its a kext problem and not the bundle.
emymrin
Can someone tell me why is performance is so poor when laptop works from battery? Graphic effects are 4x slower...
GenMatrix
If I had to guess, I would guess that your CPU lowers it's speed when it gets unplugged to preserve battery life. So when that happens it you're getting less processing power for everything, thus the slow motion that occurs.

Did reverting to the previous installed version of the AppleACPIPlatform.kext file correct this for you? I just installed the update (release version by pascalw) and that was when it stopped working so it had to be one of kexts. I will try and revert to the one from 10.4.9 and see if it does anything for me.
shinji257
Well I just tried it.

DO NOT DO THIS!

Restoring the AppleACPIPlatform.kext file from 10.4.9 resulted in a kernel panic from Mac OS. This also messed up my install since my restore image failed. I will start over taking a different approach this time (go straight to 10.4.10) and see how much works right away and how much is broken then work from there. wink.gif

Hi, Any progress for this driver? I have too that problem of Battery 0% and never ending calculating remain time.

Acer Travelmate 4101LMi
CPU: cetrino M730 1,6 mhz
Video: 915GM/GML, 910GMA Works with clip trick
Audio: Works, but not reconeized
Wifi: Prowirless 2200Bg, Works with Network selector
Ram 512 DDR 2100
Power Magnagemant: partially works, since I put the PowerManagment kext OSX reconize my system as a laptop, since then sleep and power saving functions works.

Sorry for the poor english,

Hawaharlal

Thanks man! This is great!

This is one of those many many little improvements that make the System perfect.
We need stuff like this. Just did it, and it works. No hassle. Thanks
shinji257
One possible bug here but it shows 116% battery power when running on AC. It reverts back to the correct reading when it is on battery though. Does anyone know how to make it compatible with 10.4.10?

Keithpk, you're a genius! It works beautifully on my Sony PCG-V505ex. I'm happy to see my power bar back biggrin.gif Cheers!!!

Hello to everybody

I have a stupid question: why MAC OS 10.4.9 & 10.4.10 you made for SSE3 CPUs only? If you can’t fit drivers for all soft, put it in one ISO file anyway. Or put all applications like iPhoto & iCal to another DVD image. Everybody will easily figure out how to install them manually. People who want to install MAC OS on regular computer can’t afford latest hardware usually. Why did you remove from latest images support for a lot of hardware?

For example: image with kernel made 5.26.2005 7.44MB supports my keyboard & touchpad in PCG-V505AX. But image 10.4.8 with kernel made 12.10.2006 3.96MB doesn’t support it (this kernel has 0x003A8D2F trouble on PCG-V505AX & MSI 865GM2 also).

I hope that everybody understand, that Vista really sucks & a lot of people looking for alternative OS for their computers.

I will be happy if your MAC OS support the same hardware as Ubuntu.

It’s very sad, that a lot of people have troubles with “unable to find driver for this platform: “ACPI”, 0x003A8D22F. It looks like almost everybody has this trouble. I tried to install JaS on both my computers with the same result.

!!!ATTENTION!!!

I found one installation image, which you can install if you have the same trouble:

I downloaded it on eMule file name is: Mac Os X 10.4 Tiger For Intel X86, Bootable And Installable.iso File size is: 4.192.384KB You can download it & I will help you as much as I can – I will share it on my computer. But it sucks to have 10.4.1…

But anyway, I’m so happy that you try to help people…

grantjohnston
has anyone had the problem of it not allowing you to move the file to the */SystemConfiguration folder even after you give it admin access?

Or is this just me?!?!?!?

I've tried it quite a few times.

thanks

Alright, I finally got the file to go to the folder, but, however, upon reboot, my wifi still "works" but doesn't find any networks, and the calculated time still doesn't work. Perentage does, though.

Any thoughts?

ToH RC2: I get battery icon and percentage, but no time calculation and I'm unable to adjust battery/AC settings.
Seu Creysson
Hi. Could you make a modification to source code and rebuild the bundle, please (I can't build it with Xcode 2.5 or 2.4) ?

The change is on the file PrivateLib.c at line 226 (add this statement):

CODE

temp &= ~0x80; // my battery shows 1 when AC not connected
// 0x80 when fully charged and 0x82 when charging

Or could you teach us how to rebuild the PowerManagement.bundle with XCode 2.4 or 2.5 ?

Ditto on my Gateway NX860XL in Leopard ToH RC2

Hi,
i cannot change battery settings too, though I can change AC settings and it saves its (AC) settings. The only problem is for battery (not saving changes putting itself in "normal" mode ... perhaps it may be possible to change normal mode to my own adjustment . Any clue where "Battery" profiles are stored ? It's a huge problem since my notebook does not go in sleep mode and normal forces to go into sleep mode after 10 minutes. Instead "sleep" with leopard , computer freezes and i need to shutdown it and reboot . If anyone has a solution ...
Thanks,
Mal
Glauber
Works great with Leopard TOH release!!

Thanks a lot!!

The bundle works with Leopard!
However when you use this bundle, Network Identification on a lan doesnt perform right!
Strange isn it?
Maybe its compiled under different Xcode!
Can anyone double check it??
I have a mac and i cant see the computer name of my Hakintosh laptop on the shared sidebar under a lan workgroup....
However when i use original bundle problem is solved!
Weird!

I have to click on the icon and select Show/any option for it to update but it sure is better than not having anything
Thanks a lot man!! biggrin.gif:D

I have 10.5.1 and I cant get the battery icon to show at all. It does seem to sleep sorta (depends on how its invoked) but sometimes it will not come out of it and I have to restart. Monitor does turn off like I set it. I have tried a couple of times to get this to work without and luck. Even slimbattreymonitor will not work for me. Its there but never shows an icon so I cant see my battery info. Makes sense though it pulls the data from the same place apples default icon does so since it wont work neither will slimbattreymonitor.

pel0nman you mentioned having to show hide an icon and I cant find anywhere you can do that in Leopard.

Hope there is a update for full leopard support soon.
