Alright, I've got my black box Mac up and running and I can't lie, I love it! It runs faster than my Dell laptop with OSX and my windows XP desktop and it's just nice to have until I actually go buy a real mac. Anyway, My current XBench score is 69.02 with the setup listed below. I've been modding windows based computers for a few years now and anyone who mods wants faster for less $$$....well I want my xbench #'s to go up beyond that and want to know what everyone out there with this board has done to do that. Post your replies so everyone who has this mobo can read up and boost their xbench scores without having to look everywhere for them!

Well, I don't have that Motherboard, but I know what can help. Disable Beam Sync, get a faster HD. All mine needs to break 100 is 1GB of DDR SDRAM (currently have 1x512MB, 2x512MB should make memory scores reach the 100s)

I've read there's a couple ways to disable beam sync but most people say it makes the system buggy. You can disable it using a program called Quartz Debug or you can disable it in terminal. I'd like to boost my performance but not at the expense of a good 'bug-free' configuration. Some people were mentioning text distortion and monitor issues. Have you experienced anything like that? thanks

Disabling BeamSync can be buggy under certain configurations (CRT montiors based, mostly) but with a LCD panel I haven't seen any yet. All work perfect and the GUI is a lot faster.

me and my CRT are not happy with that oh well i guess, nothing i can do about that. I've thought about buying an LCD, I'll just have to consider it more if I want to boost performance... thanks for the reply proteo

with this motherboard, you can Overclock your p4 over 3,9 Ghz...
and with disabling beam sync (i do not have found any bug !!!) with 1024 mbram at 533 Mhz i have allready touch the 123,71 in Xbench...
look for my sig...
it look 2 processor because you have a logical unit (HyperThreading...), it give you up to 30% more speed with this option activated...
now with a new pentium D930 it 's really flying... (2 real units...)

mount the dmg...copy the file to your apps folder, run program from apps folder get xbench scores

i am using a lcd Monitor...

i remember that the p4 was runing under 48° celsius...

but at 4 Ghz, when i was runnig a heavy Mandelbroot calculator all the night, it was frozen...

but otherwise, all is ok, like using (many hours, with many heavy calcs) ImovieHD 6, no more Bugs...

ced1610 - You don't by any chance know the max operating temp for the p4 630 do you? Getting the numbers from intel is about as effective as trying to get milk from tits on a donkey. CPU is averaging ~48c under load with my new HSF (factory was running at basically the same). Don't want to overclock and fry the chip/board. Thanks

I use a CRT-monitor, so disabling the Beam Synchronization didn't make a difference.
Enabling Quartz 2D Extreme gave me a huge increase in x-bench score (65-> 115) and made my GUI a lot snappier.

I don't know it for that chip but my 3.0ghz P4 (one of the first) ran at 68c with the stock cooler (noisy bitch ) under load with no oc!!!
