Ignorance is definitely not bliss but i am totally new to this but have been amazed at the ease of install onto my old dell optiplex gx260
all worked out of the box inclusing my added in Raedon 9250 128 meg card but only at 1024 x 768 but you all new that.

So I read this (which I have quoted below) in the wiki and opened the com.apple.boot.plist but what should this file be modified to look like. I have no idea and dont wont to wreck the system! here is what the wiki said

VESA v2.0 - only detects 16MB at boot prompt. No QE or CI, works with com.apple.boot.plist at 1240x1028. Tried patching Info.plist, also tried koverg patch on ATI8500 kext but neither worked.

PS I am using the 10.4.5 Maxuss moded disk of that place where the pirates stay in the bzy if you get my drift

cheers
Krazubu
There are tons of posts about this in the forum look a little, by the way you won't get QE nor CI with ATI 9250. You still can change the res with a boot parameter but the refresh rate is locked to 60Hz

well i did a search for the file name and found a dozen threads and none of them gave any indication of what to do if you could point me to the info it would be greatly appreciated. The other wierd thing i am getting is i cannot drag the contents of any disk images i download.. it starts to copy or run the installer inside the the disk image and says error 41 it does this on every disk image repaired persmissions and no difference also safari or opera crash an about 30% of the time opening a page.. oh well we cant expect perfection.
Hey thanks for any help you are will to give I do appreciate peoples time and have spent quite a lot of time hunting before asking on both these counts

thanks
