Hi all,

I finally got the 10.4.4 x86 installed on my ibm thinkpad notebook... yes, finally, the reason I'm saying that is I fall into the famous "still waiting for root device" error for a few day when I try to do it thru 10.4.5 (universal) native install... so finally with 10.4.4, it seems to be running... I'm able to install (with no errors) and boot up the gui screen.

However, 10.4.4 doesn't seem to recongize some of my hardware.
Here is the spec and functionality now:

1. AC97 audio: it had sound, but when I go to System Profile, it said "no built-in audio".
2. ATi Mobility Radeon 9000: it founds it as VGA-compatible, knows that it was using ATI chips. CI and QE are enabled. I think I'm good on this one.
3. K56Flex Modem: It ceratinly found nothing about my modem
4. Integated Intel 1000MT Gigabit Ethernet: It doesn't found the Ethernet Card/Driver at all
5. Intel Pro 802.11b/g: Do not found this either

Any suggestion/comments are greately appreciated...

BTW, it recongize my logitech usb cordless mouse w/ no problem... that's really good...

Best Regards,
Clifton

I have installed 10.4.3, 10.4.4 and currently 10.4.5 on my T40 with Intel Pro MT1000 as well, all worked without any problem. Just FYI.

how does ci work on a radeon 9000? i thought a minimum of a 9600/ fx 5200 was needed for ci.
