hi! I was wondering if the video card in the 24" iMacs is upgradable, because I am thinking of purchasing one and the ones they come with are really not very powerful at all. also, I already have a 768mb nVidia 8800gtx sitting in my desktop right now which I don't want to put to waste if I get a new computer

they are in fact upgradeable, because they have a special laptop chip (the imac is in fact a laptop with some desktop parts) which allows you to change the graphics board. but only special cards will fit in. but the imac line will be refreshed in early 2009 so the 8800 gt which is in the imacs now will be replaced with a better one, maybe 9800 or so
