im wondering if i can use the updates? i would like to get the newer version of itunes can i run the updater for things like this without it crashing the operating system ?

yes and no.

I have crashed mine, which had no error and very stable.  but if you download and install instead of software update. you are fine.


I am using itunes 8 now. just download and install. do not use software update.

I update using Software update just fine
