I wonder how People in the mac world exist without Something like Winamp.

Itunes Is Bloatware/Big Brotherware.

Can some clever peeps develop a lean mean mp3 playing machine.

Specifically, I would like to drop 60 or 70 gigs worth of tunes from my Vista insallation into a player without having to wait for several life times.

Don't copy the tracks , just play them from their current location.

VLC is getting there but random play only works within the album. IMO VLC is not finished. I keep forgetting where I put the equaliser window aswell . Why can't it be docked to the player . 3 components. Player ,playlist and equaliser.

I think the winamp port to mac should be re-lifed. There is a beta version for older Mac 9 systems i think.
However judging by the way winamp is developing on the evil wndows platform i think it too is in danger of becomming Bloatware.

Is anyone else having this problem or should the admins kill the thread for being too subversive?

lol.

Cog. for a lightweight player, Play for a more full featured iTunes-like playlist features (and applying ReplayGain!)

I like Cog.
