I have a gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. I have leopard running and i have tried numerous install methods for this audio (889a)and I cant get it to work now it wont even boot. What am i missing? any help would be much appreciated thanks!

I'm having the same issue, I'm using the GA-X48T-DQ6 with ALC889a and I can't get a thing to work. Closest I've managed after thorough digging is to get my device ID to show in Sys Profiler using HDAEnabler.kext. But even after several attempts with patching the AppleHDA using Taruga's codec dumps it just won't show an output device. I'm going to make my own codec dump and I'll post it on here if I can get it to work. Here's a good place to look, http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...4890&st=120, some posts have P35 Gigabyte boards, didn't see a P45 though. Or you can just do what I'm trying and make your own dump through linux. Then again, I'm a nub to OSx86 and could be way off, hopefully there's an easy fix smile.gif

It's quite possible that you will have to remove all your failed audio kexts, injectors and enablers and start 'clean' each time because I've seen kext installs reported as successful in the past but on inspection, the 'new' kext is in fact still the old one. Why? I have no idea. But it does happen.

Look at this thread - hopefully it will help. Note the warning about rebooting with -f and -x following the kext install.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Andy.
