I have a macbook pro, and I want to run windows vista on it for gaming, but I don't have enough hard drive room. So, instead of replacing the internal hard drive, could I just boot off of a firewire external hard drive? How would I go about installing windows this way, would I use boot camp?
I just wanna game on my mac a bit in college without bringing along my huge gaming pc.
also, I have not been getting any responses to my posts while on this forum, so if you could just respond to this one, that would be great.

I think you do not need boot camp to install Windows on external drive. Plugin you external drive and boot thru Vista Install disk, if you could find your external drive in disk selection of Vista then you can install on it otherwise no.

What MacNutty said, but just remember that Windows is aware of it's surroundings and it doesn't like when they change too much so if you do get it installed don't try using it on other hardware. It's not portable.
