Hi

I have a 10.4.4 installed (x86 on dell 4700) and downloaded the INTEL update from the Apple website, install went ok until it was optimizing system.

Computer got hotter and hotter, mouse moved but no clicks. Waited 10 mins, still stuck at 50% so i restarted, OSX never booted again and had to reinstall.

Why?!!? Hard question i know, i am just scared to do the update again. I want to get my network controller working but i cant complete the update.

Any help appreciated.

I too downloaded the Mac OS X 10.4.5 (Intel) update, install went ok until it was optimizing my system.
It got to 95%, my mouse could move but would not accept any clicks from the device.

My advice don't install any updates unless you want to Re-Install everything from start to finish.
