Full Version: Time machine UUID fix idebeb 10.5.5 airport update

I wanted to share a fix for the recent airport update that breaks time machine.

this is for idebeb 10.5.5 install

with the ethernet- realtek rtl8111 / rtl8169

it is because TM cant find the UUID and it gets a error 35

if it is you get the error 35 from this command;
grep UUID /var/log/system.log
(do it in terminal)

1. download the IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip (I forget where if someone can post...)
2. download the osx86tools program and open it.
3. get kext helper and open that
4. unzip the downloaded kext to your desktop
5. drag the kext folder over to kext helper
6. enter in your password and hit the easy install
7. after that is done, on the osx86tools check repair permissions and touch extensions (not sure if this helps but...)
8. after that is done, reboot and it should work.

preamble; I uninstalled vmware fusion and parallels because of the virtual eth (again not sure if that helps)

also I still get the error 35, but atleast I can back up.

feel free to add anything...

Thanks for your post..

The kekt file is 1.6.0 and 3.2 MB in size.

I finally did as you mention. It's works!!!

But I start with -f command. My log said "system/Library/CoreServices/backupd[167]:Event store UUIDs don't match for volume:Macintosh".
No any error:35

Hope this help
