After reading a lot of posts, I didn't discover how I can execute an app I'm programming (xcode3.1, iphone 2.1 pwned), so my question is if that is possible or i MUST call apple to get a certificate (which takes time, I don't care about paying 99$)

Doesn't take that long, I had mine in a couple of hours.
There is a way, check hackint0sh.org forum, there is a thread for create you own signed certificates and make them work with XCode/iPhone dev.
