Hello my Insanely Friends! Here i came, after use my Acer 5420 with Leopard (yeah) i finally buy a Macbook 2.1Ghz. Well, no words. Just to say: I love OS X!
Well, i came here to ask some questions. Here is my problem: i work in a hardware info shop. Well, one client brought to us an old iMac G3/500 DV Special Edition. The Mac doesn't start up. Jst a Finder/Question stay in the screen, flashing. Well, she don't have the original disks to make a install. And i think the HD are dead too. There is a way to use some Hackintosh image or something like this? I have a Firewire cable, and i have a Macbook. There is a way to put this old G3 booting from my Macbook? And maye put another HD and use a Hackintosh CD to install, Tiger or Panther or any other, just to make this machine work?

Thanks my mates, and sorry about my bad english... brazilian guy here!

For sure I have no idea what a "hardware info shop" is.

The Mac doesn't start up.

if your machine fails and you can't get it to come back up:

Zap the PRAM and let it chime three times. Then quickly change your fingers from the P-R keys to the O-F keys, so you are holding down Cmd-Opt-O-F at startup. This may not work on early rom systems. Hold them down until you get the open firmware screen. At the prompt type:

set-defaults <return>
reset-all <return>

If that fails (or you are using a system that has the older rom) hold the CUDA switch down for 15 seconds and run through zapping the pram sequence 3 times in a row. Check the system battery, a dead battery will stop the system booting.

No

No

No

The old G3, and what you own, are too different to be compatible. The G3 really wants os9, and os9 will not run on hacks, or Intel machines, sort of caught between a rock and a hard place.
