I installed the Kalyway 10.5.1 version of Leopard on my Dell D620. Is it safe to run the software update app and upgrade the OS to 10.5.5? Or is there a safe way to do this?!

Installing 10.5.5 from Software Update will screw your system. Instead download 10.5.5 update manually and use the guide available in this forum to install it safely.
