can't burn cd's or dvd's 
Installed using lawless 10.5.4
updated to 10.5.5 with the leo4all update if i remember correctly...
used eureka's appleatiata kext to increase speed (prior to upgrading any of this, i didn't have the support)
then used applehdapatcher to get sound for alc888
lastly, used nvinstaller/efi strings to get support for my 8800gt.

Last thing on my agenda is to get burning to work. Any ideas?

Apparently this is all too common on real macs, too.  As I'm sure you found out by Googling the error code.




SATA does support ATAPI... but are your SATA/IDE devices still swapped in system profiler?  This could be cause for the device not responding at burn.
Have you tried using Toast to isolate the issue yet?

I'm having this same issue with my SATA DVD drive. I also used eureka's appleatiata kext but still can't burn files. Is it the kernel or you used some other kexts? Thanks.
