This laptop has just about all the same specs as the Macbook Pro from apple.
it has the same graphics card with 512 mb ram and such
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping...e=HDX16t_seriesBut it also has a 1920 x 1080 16" screen if you choose that option.
under $1000 on sale. (watch deals2buy.com)
its basically the best pc ive seen.
does anyone know if it might have the potential to be hackintoshed?

Personally I would still take a Macbook or Macbook Pro over that.
I do not care how much HP touts their design. That machine is ugly. 16" inch screen with 1920x1080 resolution is ridiculous and 1368x768 is just plain wacky for the opposite reasons.
The new HPs are heavy. Plain and simple, the idea is a portable machine, not a desktop that folds in half.
My biggest issue is that HP comes out with so many different models each year obtaining replacement parts (batteries, chargers) can be a real pain in the ass, and take weeks to track down the right part. Plus they try to get you with different battery options. Give me one and I will deal with it, if you do not know exactly what you need when you purchase it, it can be hell to get the part new as a non-replacement later on.
Also I do not see the Nvidia 9400 chipset on their. The option of high and low graphics is great. What is the power consumption of the HP? Battery life with the 6 and 12 cell batteries?
The HP in the end is $500-$600 cheaper than the high end Macbook Pro, and in all honesty I would rather invest that in a MacBook Pro. Not impressed.

if you'd consider a 17" laptop, the 16t might be good,...
did run into one guy, pulling out an 17" macbook pro,....
said, loves the screen,... but wished, there was an 15" with
higher rez,... since the 17" is too big, for an laptop,...
last time I looked, it was 3.5k for 1920x1200,...
you could get a 17" for 2.7k now,...
and agree the macbook be good for the long run,
for short term, the 16t, could fit the bill, for 1/2 price,
and it would have blu-ray, sure, youd need to boot into windoze
so the big peeve, is still no higher rez than 1440x900 for the 15" macbook,....
and price
anybody got the 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT to work on the HP ?
probably uses more power, and noisier due fan,.... since you would not be able to switch some nvidia cores of,
don't know, how the powermizer would work in osx, or how to check it,...

you obviously didnt go to deals2buy.com because you can get it for under 1000$
but does anyone think it has the potential to be hackintoshed?
I am comfortable using Vista if it cant, but i really would like to know.
