Plain and simple is the 9800GTX+ worth the $40 extra over the 9800GTX?

its only supposed to run around 5% better, and its a smaller die, so it shouldn't run as hot, but I dont think it makes much of a difference.

Where do u live? I bought a Asus 9800gtx+ Dark Knight that actually cost less than the original asus 9800gtx itself. The die shrink of the G92 core is supposed to make the card cost less, NOT more!!

Taken from http://techgage.com/article/asus_en9800gtx...b_dark_knight/1 :

"...Price-wise, the 9800 GTX+ is currently no more expensive than the original, so it's important to dig for the best deals. In some cases, the original costs more, so make sure a plus sign is in the title, and you'll wind up with a better product..."

So I'd advice you to wait abit for a price refresh of some sort in your area.

Any successful testimonials with the 9800gtx+?

You can check out the threads from Aqua-Mac. He managed not just to use one 9800 GTX but two inside his Hackintosh. For me, the Asus 9800 GTX+ is working fine.

If you still want to know whether it was worth the extra cash. The answer is yes!!!!

This card is awesome. I installed 10.5.6 yesterday, the card came in today. I did not have to install any additional drivers or kext files. Just popped in the graphics card EFI strings, and that was it. So easy, love it.
