My install seems to hit an invisible limit at about 3.87GB of RAM, while I have 16GB installed (4x4GB)

I'm running 10.5.5 installed from retail using the vanilla kernel.

I followed the first set of steps in this guide:

Anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

Errrrmmmm.... the screenshot you have supplied is showing 12Gb free. So OS X is seeing it fine, it's just not loaded with anything!

3.87Gb is being used, the rest (12.11Gb) is ready and waiting for other apps etc. to be loaded into the RAM.

heh, you're right i just opened everything on my computer and it went over 4gigs.. sorry to waste anyones time

i had been using it for a few days and it never hit higher than the 3.87GB.. thought it wasn't actually using the rest of the RAM even though it was showing it (like the new macbooks with the invisible 4GB limit)

To test your ram just try to compress or expand a +4gb ISO with unrarX or stuffit it should easly go over the 4gb usage
