This is a fresh 10.5.1 kalyway install. (System specs in sig)

Here is the log from the "All messages" category. I'm using par2formac to check a rar archive i have. But the kernal panic happens when i do anything that exerts the use of the hard drive. EG: Installing stuff etc.

looks like a problem i have seen a long time ago on my pc, it was the Video kext.. the pc is booting fine from your code, its just not loading into GUI.
try installing, but do not select any video kext, let it load the basic video driver and see if you get a screen, Also you might want to DL a new install disk, Ideneb is a great one and it is 10.5.5 already..

boot with this option debug=0x100

this will give you a log instead of the regular kernel panic text
