for 4850 we need ATINDRV.kext and ATIRNDRV.kext from new macbooks, in this update those kexts wasn't updated (only plists was updated, binaries is not)
0x0622 - 9600gt
0x064x - g96 cards (9500)
gt200 is - 0x05e1 0x05e2 , so no support yet
and this 0x086010de&0xffe0ffff - i guess it's integrated 9400

p.s. my 9500m gs on lappy is now detected properly in glview, with new drivers.

You have to extract the 'payload' inside Resources to get to the kexts.

Sorry, I extracted payload, but how to unpack payload? (never did it before)

EDIT: Found it.

I kind of doubt that it will appear on the mac mini either. As the macbook goes, so to goes the mac mini. That is what it seems to have been like in the past. Besides, when Steve gets a bug up his butt he generally throws the offending partners technology totally under the bus as he drives over it repeatedly. **bump-bump**

If that were the case, it would be Intel/ATI all the way as nVidia has supplied Apple with plenty of chips with a manufacturing defect that has the potential to cost apple a lot more then the repair does!

Thats not all contained in that update. It already comes with a different build (9F2088), SU 1.2 is on top of that (updates to 9F2114).

Hopefully that will be before end of the year.

looked today a lot into ati framebuffers(lamna/mega) and radeonhd linux driver, and figured out there is clearly no support for rv770 on osx yet.
it was about framebuffer(resolution change).
but, 3d/opengl/qe/ci works(dont ask me how i got to this conslusion) , it just needs working framebuffer to display smth else than garbaged screen

What I'm curious about, is, can we get the new nVidia chipset based Intel motherboards working in OS X? They are the same as the ones used in the new Macbooks.
ATI 4850/4870 support will come eventually, maybe in November when Apple release the new Mac Pros.

hi, any chance for Mobility Hd 3650 working with these new kexts etc. There are alot of mobilities out there, with no love:( ....haha...don't mean to be so dramatic. But with a few amatures presuing and maybe one or two gurus leading ....there might be sucess.
crystalzack found mobility device id, in between the kexts. Its here on this post.
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=937297I have tried messing with kexts, combination of natit, last exile and the new update kexts from apple, in safe mode, the gpu is recognized and correctly identified, vram is correct, core image reads ;software - no resolution change, no QE.
in normal boot- the is screen garbage...nothing else..but garbage.
please netkas, lastexile, jas and other guru...please help us...we really don't know what we are doing...just reading alot and piecing together what ever we can comprehend.
please excuse the spelling and grammar.

difference beetwen rv770 and rv670 in drivers - FrameBuffer Location var for atombios, and a way to detect connections,
first thing can be easily solved with binpatch, so i got screen flickersing and blue screen after it, for a short moment, but second cant be solved with binpatching, so, it cant detect any outputs, so waiting for apple to solve this.

Hi netkas, will this apply to the Mobility HD 3650 gpu as well. I have tried efi new kexts , and all i get is blue screen, flickers black and blue continuously. sounds like what you have just mentioend above. Is there any hope for the mobility HD 3650 (RV 635) and other similar series.

Or will the driver architecture be too different?

does anyone here know how these new drivers will affect CI/QE on shared memory cards. am i right in thinking the memory addressing is part of a different kext than acceleration so it should work for older cards too?
