I am trying to connect an imac G3 to a linksys wrt54gr router .I am using a USB cable modem directly from the imac and ethernet to got to the router and the imac is connected ok but I want to connect a laptop to this same network. The laptop can find the router ok and claims to be connected to the internet by it but it isnt .I know this seems an unusual way to do it but I dont need the imac to run wirelessly.Has anybody done this I am unable to access the router settings via the web browser as per the instructions.I think the problem lies in the fact that the broadband modem is USB and there is no direct connection to the router but Iwas hopefil of making this work any suggestions? thanks

Doesn't the modem have ethernet out in addition to USB? Use that.
