This is my first post, and i just want to thank you all for all the information on here, its been great.

Unfortunately after installing Kalyway (successfully) i tried to install the NVinject drivers for my 8500GT. I restarted and the computer worked but i got an error message that said to restart, and i did, then i got it again and again. After about 3 times my computer restarted and let out 1 long beep and 2 short ones. I troubleshooted and the problem is that my video card is no longer being recognized by any system. I put my Radeon 4850 in the hackintosh and it booted right up. Then i put the 8500GT in my vista machine and no dice. When booting my vista machine with my 4850 and 8500GT the 8500GT is not even recognized in Device Manager. The 8500GT seems to be totally dead.

Now i am just wondering if there is anyway i could recover the card. Has this happened to anyone? Or are there any possible solutions? I have no idea what to do at this point and just hoping that i could still use the card.

Thanks for the help.

Does your computer even post with just the 8500?

With the 8500 on both systems i just get post error codes. I looked the beeps up and they were video errors. All i get is a no signal on the monitor so i cant see anything.

sounds totally dead to me. good thing 8500's are cheap.

Maybe ill just get a 2600pro from what i have seen those are pretty compatable. I just dont want to wait 3 or 4 days for shipping to get this working sad.gif

Which would run better and which is easier to setup?

Asus EAH3650 Silent Magic ($34 after MIR)
Powercolor HD2600PRO ($29 after MIR)

Thanks.
