From what I understand 3D acceleration won't work because of the shared vram, but is there a way to at least change the resolution?

I had 7300 Go 100% working on asus laptop. I think I used NVinject ...

thanks. as soon as I reinstall OS X again(I broke it messing with different kexts for my 7300) I'll give it a shot.

nope, installing any video kext breaks my install.
I'm installing on an Asus Aspire 9300-3716.

Have you changed device id in the kexts? btw mine had 128 MB of dedicated memory. Dunno if that could be the problem.. And when you're messing with the kexts, always do backup so if you do something wrong, just get them back from command line at boot.

You may wanna try my Quadro NVS 110M EFI string (NVS 110M is actually GeForce 7300 Go, just different branding), it gives CI/QE and full colour:
