Full Version: Gmail Notifier Universal

Google has finally got to work on their Mac apps and have released a Universal Binary of Gmail Notifier. Now besides the Unibin, Gmail Notifier now has a new icon and auto updating; both welcome additions.

All I can say is finally! I can handle the occasional PPC app but I hate when an app I run all the time is running in Rosetta. It just slows things down.

Let's just hope this Universal release is a sign of more things to come, like perhaps a Universal Google Earth.

I would love to see a Universal release of Gtalk! smile.gif

Downloaded and running fine here. Spiffy new icon, like it.

If your old version is working DO NOT DOWNLOAD the new version. Many many follks (including me) downloaded this, worked for a while, then stopped. Even if you manually force a check and have a few hundred items in your Inbox, this prog still says you have 0 e-mail. Many complaints have been made in the gmail support forums on Google, no response has been heard yet.

Yeah, I've noticed this also. Hopefully Google will get to the bottom of this soon.

Edit: By the way, this problem has nothing to do with the recent version of the notifier. The old version is broken also, as well as a handful of third party notifiers for both windows and mac.

Google's own Gmail dashboard widget is currently broken as well. It's the problem at Google's server, not the software accessing it that is broken.

Turns out the problem was not the application, it was Google server issues....Though I have no idea why the Windows client wasn't affected.
