When I boot from Kalyway DVD it its detected in Disk Utility.

But when I boot from Leopard installation in my HD (Sata), the IDE DVD is not recognized.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L
Sata HD
IDE DVD
AHCI set in bios

Can anyone help me?

Ditto here, specs in sig.

You need the suitable JMicron kext or modified AppleIntelPIIXata.kext for making it working. Just google it and you will find a solution.

Can I use AppleIntelPIIXata.kext from this topic?

But all my SATA ports are working fine, does this make both SATA and IDE work?

Tried both JMicron.kext (that one broke my system) and modified AppleIntelPIIXata.kext (from this forum) and didn't work.

I think that buying a SATA DVD is a better solution.

My only remaining SATA ports are the sata_raid ports, don't think that would work for a DVD drive would it?

Problem solved

Solution: bought a SATA DVD Drive LG GH20NS10

I fixed my problem too, had to change the jumper (#@%$) to cable-select from secondary which was because I used to have an IDE HDD. smile.gif
