i'm having a problem with with downloading files directly to one of my drives on my IDE on a Jmicron IDE/esata controller. when i download files they are appearing on the drive with ridiculous file sizes, files will appear at sizes in the terabyte scale which is clearly impossible as the drive is only 80GB, anyone any ideas?

With your computer setup you should scrap the IDE drives! Or put it in a external USB case. Vista doesn't even like that controller!

jmicron works pretty nice with OSX, it looks like your file system is corrupt, you'd better run a scan with disk utility
