I'm running Kalyway 10.5.2 and booting up and using the internet/sound works fine. However, the problem came about since I tried to get my Graphics Card working right. I tried many different things, NVinject tutorials and weird installers. Then when booting into normal mode all i got was a cursor and two black screens. For awhile my second screen worked in safe mode and i was able to detect displays and switch resolutions. I wanted to be able to boot regularly so I moved my NVDAResman.kext file into a backup spot and was back where I started. I can't stand the 1024x768 resolution so i used osx86 tools to make my bootlist boot into 1280x1024x32@60Hz since I was getting annoyed of typing it in every time. (I also noticed that I was booting into -f mode and when I deleted that string, I couldn't boot at all) The problem now is that I boot into 1280x1024x32@60 but my second monitor mirrors again and after about 5-10min everything freezes except for my music. My keyboard and mouse don't work and both screens black out. Eventually I just do a hard reboot and have had this problem for hours. I don't know what to do, but when i tried editing the NVCAP (don't really get it) the freezing problem comes up again. Actually, the problem comes up no matter what I'm doing on leopard. (leaving it there without anything on, using safari, check email, itunes, using finder etc.)
Booting with "-v" gets me to a normal boot and using safe mode "-x" same thing happens.
Hopefully Useful Info
Kalyway 10.5.2
Dell Dimension 5150
(Intel Pentium D processor 3.0 Ghz all default cept for RAM, Vcard, Liteon DVD burner, and a new Hitachi Sata HDD)
3 GB RAM
Nvidia 7950 (I know the device/vendor id already and have entered it according to numerous tutorials on here)
Onboard Sound/Ethernet cards work fine
Logitech S510 keyboard and LX5 Cordless Mouse (all buttons including play/stop/volume buttons work)
*I have a stable Windows Partition, a Laptop, and my leopard can still access the internet (for only about 5-10 min before freezing)
Any help would be greatly appreciated unfortunately, with school I can't spend as much time as I'd like trying everything possible and using the search feature endlessly (although i have spent hours doing both)
