Ooh.

This looks really promising. Can't wait for a beta so I can play with it.

WOW...

This is just an amazing piece of software code biggrin.gif
I just downloaded it and let me tell you all one thing... IT IS DAMN GOOD.
Pages load almost instantaneously... I really like it.

Been available for a few hours now, Windows only of course. But it's promising. Passes Acid2, gets 76 on Acid3, but it's beta and in progress.

Could be leading into GoogleOS... who knows. wink.gif

Currently using it now. I'm very, very impressed with it.
iSkylla
Yeah, I'm using it too right now, it's good, nice and fast, too.
PsYcHoKiLLa
I'm using it too, not bad.....faults so far:

It has a built-in spellchecker which just flagged "Firefox" lol and wouldn't let me add it to the definitions.
Definitely slower on my computer than Firefox.
Unable to easily organise bookmarks in a separate window although you can drag and drop them to the bar at the top
applehacker
sounds cool! your right, they could be the next OS maker! GoogOS (pronounced "goog-us" like a roman name.)

Just downloaded it and wow am I impressed. First let me start off the OS integration: This browser feels perfectly at home in the Windows environment. The lack of any drop downs pits this browser right up with Windows Explorer and Office 07 for the 'aero-feel'. Speed seems great, controls are intuitive etc. I'm a Firefox guy through and through, and don't plan on switching; that being said Chrome is the best alternative browser I've used (yes, better than Opera) and I can see this being in a winner. I just hope it doesn't hurt Firefox sad.gif

Me either. I seriously hope it kills Internet Explorer, but if it stands alongside Firefox, I'll support it. Downloading now.

Although the UI is quite simple it's probably one of the most ugliest ones if ever seen. It still looks like the one which was in the advertising comic... I can't believe that they released it looking that way biggrin.gif

But i have to agree with you guys... it's damn fast but I'll definitely stay with Opera. No matter what this browser's going to be when it's finished
Suprjacob
I love it.

Features wanted from Firefox:

Bookmarks Organizing Thingy
AdBlock Plus

fatshitcat
Bast756, don't forget this is a very very early beta. I thing they are prepping the ui changes for later.

I would expect a refreshed UI, new icon and new name by it hits 1.0.

And by the way, Safari 4 DP passed the Acid3 test 100%

Piece of {censored} Browser, this could be classified as an alpha and not a beta version. blowup.gif

any one can scroll up problem? I can scroll down only with my laptop's touch pad.

Unless your computer turns into Steve Ballmer and starts yelling "Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers, etc!" after installing, I assure you that it has left alpha state.

At least I haven't had any problems with it so far...
Suprjacob
Oh, and a recently closed tabs menu thing like in Firefox would be nice.

Don't worry, it can only get better wink.gif Besides, from the screenshots I've seen so far it actually looks quite good for the first public beta but I have yet to try it for myself. I'll expect more things to come smile.gif

If google made a browser, I'd try it. If they made a Linux distro, I'd be all over it! Browser looks pretty cool, but doesn't have me switching from good old firefox.
Basti756
I know it's a beta version, but I don't think they're gonna change the UI that much.

Another point is this most-used-websites-preview-page... it's available wherever you use the browser... wondering if this works with saved passwords too wink.gif
vbetts
Yeah, except Chrome indexes all your info, like your bank online. I hate Google, Google does some shady {censored}.

Windows only of course.

Anything to get the morons to stop using IE is a welcomed site wink.gif
outaru
is google the new microsoft?

Chrome is the new IE...
maclancer
Maybe by the time they release the Mac version it will be more polished than now.

and thats what stops me from using it, doesn't matter how good it is, i don't give out my user profile for free and without a fight.

What I don't get is this: [parts highlighted]

Official Build 1798
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/0.2.149.29 Safari/525.13

Why are these parts mentioned?
Detosx
Ooh! An excuse to spend an afternoon by the fireside, installing windows! Hoorah!

NOT!

Okay, I use Parallels now and then, but that's not the point tongue.gif

Opera all the way, for me. Firefox 3 frequently crashes, even on my Mac Mini.

Google tracks, records, and submits the information you search on their search engine, and basically publishes the results all over. That's terrible, and I can't support google for that reason.
