Hello everyone. I am new to the forums, so forgive me for posting inappropriately (if I have).

Anyhow, the Lawless AMD install went great after disabling my legacy USB and doing some keyboard switching, but after finishing the install it brings me to the desktop, but missing the background and Finder. It's just a light blue screen with the mouse cursor (which moves around ok). I even tried booting safe mode which was NEARLY the same. It did bring up the background and login screen which let me type my password, but then immediately brought me to the blank, blue screen.

My system:

MB: Asus A8N-SLI deluxe
Proc: Athlon 4200+ X2
Mem: OCZ 4gb
Vid: Nvidia 7600GS
HD: 500gb Sata2

Any ideas? The only thing I could think that I did wrong was during the install I kind of pick swathes of drivers not knowing exactly which ones to pick. I.e. for video I picked all the nvidia drivers to be installed...etc.

But again, I did boot into Safemode with the same results.

One other strange happening is that I have the Yukon ethernet adapter chipset and during the install it kept repeating an error message over and over...unfortunately, I can't remember the error. SORRY!

Thanks for any help.

How about you read more about what you're doing.

And you posted in the wrong section.

Use some common sense. First of all, your issue is MOST LIKELY because you decided to pick all of the drivers in the video section. If you don't know which one to pick, don't pick any of them!

Start back over, and DON'T PICK anything that you don't know that you don't have. You show you have a 7 Series Geforce, so in the Video Drivers, only pick the option for the 7 Series card, and the appropriate memory of the card.

Use some common sense, and try your install again. Take pictures of the errors, show the pictures, write them down, or do something.
