Full Version: Software update from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 on intel

Hi there

is there any safe method to update Leopard form 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 ? (on Intel not AMD! )

P.S: When I use apple software update my OS crashed!

if any body do it successfully please share smile.gif

Probably the IntelCPUManagement.kext causing it go to the Apple website and get the 10.5.4 Combo update then once you have it follow the instructions in this thread its for 10.5.2 but the idea remains the same, BTW you can most likely just copy'n'paste link for the 10.5.2 in the thread changing the last part of it to 10.5.4.dmg.

I do exactly as that post told but after reboot leopard crash!
maybe some more tricks need for upgrade to 10.5.4 !
any idea ?

Not really with the information you have given out, for us to be able to help you we would need to know the hardware you have in your machine and the exact error it gives you when it crashes after update plus knowing the way you installed would be an idea as well. To get the error when it boots hit the F8 to bring up the boot loader then use the hit any key option to be able to type in -v then hit the ENTER key, this boots in text mode allowing you to see the error when it happens.

what kernel did you use under 10.5.2? i think my kabyl changed to vanilla. i first had to enable "no execute memory protect" in bios (gigabyte ga ep35 ds4) to use vanilla-kernel instead of kabyl, then the update (COMBO!)worked oob.
