OFFTOPIC

I would want to say something care this dvd. I have published this dvd in order to help the others, but there are persons whom they want to say that I have not made null and have copied. I have 15 years and they are not arrogating to believe me better than others. My only scope from some month, is to try to help the users to install Mac, because task that is the best operating system and because I love to help. I'm not the best one, and perhaps it I will not be never, but I try to make the possible one for this plan, and I do not want that others say that I have not made null, when I have past entire nights to us in order to make this dvd.

I had not understood that OSx86 Project is a plan with copyright. I'm not taken no right to me on the patch e drivers, I have said thanks all developers and specified that this dvd never would not have existed without your contribution. I have only written that it has been developed from me. I make these things for two reasons: in order to learn and to help. this is a crime? I want to continue to help. Excused me for the offtopic and my english, but was necessary.

The list looks impressive. This maybe the panacea for all ailments outhere. I am trying to get it. Hope it solves my problem of inability to install on Nvidia MCP73 chipset.

Think you might want to amend that. Kalyway had nothing to do with Chameleon. It pretty much is all Zef's work with some parts by Kabyl. It also has absolutely nothing in common with PC_EFI by Netkas (Chameleon was based on boot-132 modifications by DFE).

Is it work for Realtek RTL8187SE?

No support for Intel 82566x series of nics?

I'll try this release:) I've had problems with the ide microdrive (asus p5k-se) and it kept saying 'waiting for root device' while I had connected 1IDE HDD, one sata HDD and a usb HDD so I hope this will work. On my other pc iatkos v4i starts to install but just stops at +- 85%. Could someone send me an demonoid invite or post it to usenet? I don't have an account there yet.

LawlessPPC your release worked great on my AMD machine! Except some reason it only detected one core of my Athlon 64 X2. Anyway, I haven't tried this release yet but it looks excellent.

Could you please give the MD5 checksum for the ISO file? This will help all members just to confirm that there are no errors in downloaded iso.

I downloaded the DVD but I had an error in unzipping the compressed file. Only 385 MB...

Maybe the green monster took his bite out of this release,

I tried with no success,
the first time it crushed during the disk utility (while i formatted my partition)
the second time, i managed to format the partition, i chose the right packages for my system (AMD 64X2+NFORCE 4)
but it just halted during the files copy.

I'll try again later

(By the way, other distros like Leo4All works flawless on my rig)

Got this downloaded going to unzip and burn tonight. will then attempt an install. Got my Time Machine so everything is backed up.

Will post back here with the results. hopefuly my QE/QC problem is fixed here

I've tried this and whilst the install went fine I've run into a problem during the set-up stage -

- Select your keyboard - OK
- Do You already own a Mac? - Select - Do Not transfer my info now, click continue.

This seems to hang for a while then I get the intro again and the loop repeats

1. Run single user mode using the -s flag while booting
2. Mount the file system as mentioned when you boot
3. Change the root password using the command "passwd root"
4. Touch (create) the .AppleSetupDone file by typing "touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone"

if downloaded it yesterday, burned it todax and running installation 30 minutes ago

the last two minutes are running and i will let me suprise if it work like kalyway do for me report later here

If you select Realtec/Intel 8169 (LAN ) Patch some files (from orig. IONetwork.kext) are not copied !

So far everything except my network seems to be working OK. The network pref doesnt contain any adaptors so I guess I picked the wrong option during install, if anyone can help me with that I'd appreciate it Sorted that following the guide and script here for my p5k-e http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=69132

I should point out this is my first attempt at OSX on a PC and its gone pretty smoothly so far, dual boot with Vista is all good, obviously I'm a noob to all of this but this distro seems to be pretty good to me, so many thanks to Punk92 for it!

Bad CRC extracting the ISO every time. I'm on Linux and can't use Betterzip. Is this release expected to be taken serious?

I am somewhat noob into OSx86 and I am having trouble completing the instructions in post #34. After I use the -s command, what command comes next? -mount uw?

Then go into control panel and create the accounts you want

I have extracted both with the mac, without programs like BetterZip, then with windows, both with winrar that with 7-zip .....without any problem....

That got me a little stuck as well. I found the command "mount /dev/disknsp" where n = the logical disk number which begins at 0 and p = the partition number which begins at 1.

Hope that helps, if not I'm sure someone who knows far more than me will be along to help

the dvd it works to many, some have of the little ones bug. I have extracted the dvd or from windows that with Mac, and I have not had no problems, as they have not had them many persons.

Using wine to run winrar worked great. Don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place.

In the future punk when you do a new release, could you please use a standard compression program? Thanks again!

just downloaded this and installed it...the install seemed to go fine, except
it doesnt seem to have all the applications you said it has installed? Adium, firefox?

I'm having some hardware issues also, I have a geforce 8600GT 1 GB its only reading 32mb of memory. also my sound is not working

Motherboard is Asus P5b sound chipset is the ADI1988

Maybe I'm am doing something wrong, It keeps doing the loop on Transfer from another mac. I think I just need more experience learning commands and so on. I did -s, the I tried the sbins/ mount and the mount /dev/disknsp which took me to root, Then I did the passwrd root, It asked me to retype password and i did. Then I did the touch /var/db/applesetupdone command which did something then took me back to root. I there anything else I should do before typing exit to boot?

Installs ok, Everthing goes smoothly until I get to the main apple configuration screen (after the welcome screen), it asks if I have data to transfer over from another mac etc, select no, and then it just loops back to welcome screen again! annoyed because it looked very smooth until then.....have tried a number of different kernels/options without luck.

can you not use your old kext files for that ? thats what i did with kalyways 10.5.2 i downloaded apple original 10.4.5 and grabs all my kexts from there bro hope this helps you out...

i dont have any original kext files? how do i go about getting these and loading the proper ones?
