Full Version: Have a wireless card icon, but it doesn't turn on

I have searched for this solution and can't find a clear answer.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 2.0ghz Celeron. I am using a Net Gear WG511 v wireless PCMCIA card.

I am getting the little wireless card in the upper right hand corner beside the volume icon. When I click it I get two lines that are greyed out: Marvell Semiconductor and below it 88W8310 802.11g Cardbus PC Card
Below that is an enabled selection Power Off Card

I am trying to find where to turn this on. I am not sure if there is a kext out there or a driver that I need. Thanks for your help.

This also happened to my Broadcom Card until I added the correct Device ID into the appropriate kext!

Is it possible for you to let us know which kext you had to modify in order to get that to work...
