Full Version: Turning off the screen of my laptop

Ok, so ive got my hp dv6142ea almost all working with iatkos v4.0i, speedstep and all the stuff, but i cant figure out how to automatically turn off the screen after a certaing period of time. i set this on system preferences but then, nothing happens. i know sleep has a lot of problems, but at least i want it to automatically turn off the screen when im afk. any ideas? thanks

what do you mean speedstepping and all that stuff -- what machine do you have? -- what ACPI bundle are you using? -- what options did you chose under "customize" in the install process -- are you using the speedstep kernel or the vanilla kernel smile.gif -- let me know so i can get a better idea of whats going on

well, im still noob at this but, when installing iatkos i just selected under drivers > system "Intel Speedstep" and under Stock Files selected AppleACPIPlatform.kext (i got know an indicator on the status bar that shows me the cpu frequency), installed nvkush drivers and that's all, almost all the other stuff was working. didnt install any acpi bundle so probably thats the problem, maybe i should try. any recommendations on wich one to try? thanks
