Installed using Leo4allV3, updated to 10.5.4, tested Firewire... doesn't work. Neither my digidesign 002 audio interface, or a video camera... both work under windows.

Searched, but couldn't find any threads about the Texas Instruments TSB43AB22A not working...

I've noticed booting -v these messages:

Jul 3 20:13:09 localhost kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 1102 ID 4001 PCI now active, GUID 00023c003103d6a9; max speed s400.
Jul 3 20:13:09 localhost kernel[0]: ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure.

Not exactly that, I copy/pasted that from a Tiger board, but they say the same thing...

My motherboard has a TI chipset... I copy/pasted that message from a thread I saw here... my VENDORID and GUID are different... but it goes too fast for me to write it down...

Here's the actual errors:

localhost kernel[0]: FireWire (OHCI) TI ID 8023 PCI now active, GUID 00508d0000b8418f; max speed s400.
Jul 20 11:50:22 localhost kernel[0]: ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure.

I've tried installing different kexts from 10.4.8, 10.5.2, 10.5.3, and 10.5.4... none of them work! sad.gif

Is there kexts besides the IOfire* ones that I should try different versions of?

Any ideas at all?

Here's the actual errors:

The first one isn't an error and the second one I see every time I boot. My firewire ports work fine. Have you tried connecting any firewire devices to it? What does the log say immediately after you plug something in?
JustinAiken
Just tried, the log gives me this when plugging in the 002 audio interface in the big plug:

EDIT
Nevermind... I'm an idiot... inside my case my firewireport was hooked into USB... took me about 3 dozen hours to realize this.. rolleyes.gif
