when booting with -s option i get messages:

a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/Apple3Com3C90x.kext
can't find extension with id com.apple.driver.Apple3Com3C90x

if a give the kextloar -t connand for debug information it gives me

>kextload -k /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/Apple3Com3C90x.kext

kernel extension ... has problems:

Problem solved.
I user the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.3

what version it is? 10.4.8?

No. That was in March.. That was 10.4.5. I'm totally a mac-n00b and don't know how to help you. =(

Same problem. While the HCL doesn't -specifically- list the 3c905-TX it mentions pretty much every other 3c905 card there is. This must be an OSX problem? If the hardware doesn't work, that's one thing. But if the unmodified kext won't even load?

Figures. Two NIC cards I have laying around. This one and a FA310TX card. Both supposedly supported under OSX (FA310 w/Tulip kext) and neither one actually does. Guh.

What motherboard do you have? (Intel DG965WH here) I wonder.. I noticed that under OSX it says I have no PCI cards, and I wonder if this is because there's some sort of PCI bus recognition problem instead of a specific network card issue?
