Is it just me or the forum is much quieter than usual these days?
(I don't mean how many users are active at any given time, but the number of posts).
I wonder why. Maybe because of the Summer holidays?

Yes,I think that.But I guess that depends on what threads we are talking about.At least I was quiet yesterday (Independence Day here,5th July)...Maybe the summer break as you said.

Yeah i always think its strange that the post count is so low compared to the number of people on the site at any time.

insanelymac is far to be a community, people do a post, then vanish

not to mention that there are hundreds of people that register just to ask for invites or to pm a random mod for help

Yeah i agree with you guys its a bit quite, that probably why no one has to help with my problem i am having with my motherboard. or maybe everyone is chilling out in the IRC channels

with a rapid count...
we have.. about a total of 224209 registered users
about 161300+ registered and validated users with 0 posts
about 1920 users registered but not validated

224209 - (161300 + 1920) = 60989

only about 60989 users with more than 0 posts

the total posts count(that maybe doesn't include deleted posts) is about 802,534

you'll get the picture...

That means the rest are here to read, search and not ask stpid questions. I am sure we all did the same at some point. I know I did for 4-5 months.

I agree only partially. You aren't really a member of an internet community until you contribute actively in some way.
I am also a member of some forums where I have never posted, but I could never maintain that I am an active member.
And BTW, lord, "161300+ registered and validated users with 0 posts" ? That is absolutely staggering.

I, too, was shocked by that. I think that I have an idea to clean some of that, and clean InsanelyMac a little.
