Ok, I have been going back and forth for a while now on what to do. Build a new PC because I do need Windows or buy a Mac Pro (out of my price range at the moment) so that I can have Windows.

I currently own a MacBook Pro and I am leaning on the building a PC route. So I am posting here to ask if this product from CREATIVE is indeed an actual audio interface? It mentions 'Gaming' and 'Audio Creation' modes. I am just not sure if it is what I think it is! So can someone shed some light on if this can actually be a very good Audio Interface for recording guitar/bass/synthesizers/vocals etc. I'd be very greatful if anyone could post experiences or thoughts on this product.

Don't buy that

Creative stuff is junk for recording audio. (no matter what their marketing says.) Also it's not supported in osx if you plan on running osx on your new self built pc.

I don't know what your budget is, but if you are interested in recording/setting up a decent home studio, then avoid creative at all costs. Also don't get a USB interface. If you want something external use firewire otherwise use an internal pci,pci express etc. interface

But I am kinda looking for something of an audio interface to go into a 5.25 inch Bay like the Creative Fatal1ty would! I don't think the Fireface 400 does that!

depends of your needs...to start creative products are not so bad...i start producing in a audigy 2 ZS , and released a few tracks... just that and sonar 7but doenst work in osx only windows...PS: about that 5.25 inch Bay stuff i only know creative productsyou know the Echo AudioFire2 firewire? is that any good and will work on hackintosh?looks good , simple and cheap just what i need

Thanks for your reply xpertvision! I already have a MacBook Pro so I wouldn't really need OSx86 compatibility for audio creation, I'd only ever really have OSx86 to play around with! I'm building a PC for the sole purpose of learning about how to build them more and repair/upgrade them! Also to play some games =]

I never got the chance to tinker around with computers when I was younger lol I'd be using FL Studio on this machine though under Windows XP Pro! (FL is a great Windows app)
