Hi all. Did a search and nothing turned up, so hope this hasn't been covered yet (or at least helps folks that didn't see other posts about it). Anyways, I was getting sick and tired of using the RTL8187L utility that comes with Kalyway 10.5.2 with my Asus P5B wifi mobo, so I hopped over to Newegg and looked at some cheapo wifi boards (internal PCI) and came across the board mentioned in the title:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16833320022

notice most of the user reviews refer to OSX compatibility, so I said what the heck for $30 and ordered one. Well, I now have Airport working OOB, just had to stop the realtek utility from loading at startup and it worked great. I always had working startup and shutdown, but shutdown and restart were always slow to happen. Must have been the Realtek driver doing it, because now it's almost instant. Gonna have to see if it fixes my "No wake from sleep" issue. As most of this info is sort of useless without specs, here they are:

Kalyway 10.5.2 install (TOH kernel) --> 10.5.3 via Kalyway combo update (Vanilla 9.3) --> 10.5.4 via Software Update (Vanilla 9.4)
EFIV8
ASUS P5B Deluxe Wifi/AP (Wifi/AP part now disused)
Intel C2D e6550 OCd to 3.6GHz
2GB OCZ Gold DDR800 @ DDR1030
500GB Vista HD/250GB OSX HD - dual boot via Easy BCD
8800GT vidcard w/EFI strings

But if you want this card, be sure to order exactly this one; the older v1 of this card used a Marvell W8100 chip, not sure if it works on OSX

Yes this card is listed in the HCL.

I bought one some time ago, but for much less on ebay. Works flawlessly.

wow, what were the odds that someone would bump an old topic on this right after I posted it? Something from 2006 *LOL* No wonder I couldn't find it. Now I feel like an ID-10-T!

You should be checking the HCL as a starting point for hardware anyways: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
