Hi!

I have a Gigabyte radeon x1550 256mb card, using chipset 0x7183 (Same as most x1300 models) and i'm using the Natit_ATIauto kext.
I can change the resolution but i can't play DVDs/Games etc. (QE/CI not enabled.)

But when i updated my system from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 the system info says this:

ATI Radeon X1300 Series:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon X1300 Series
Type: Display
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x7183
Revision ID: 0x0000
Displays:
L226W:
Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Software
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
Display Connector:
Status: No display connected

Does "Core image: Software" means that CI is working?
Also, i'd like to know if theres a way for me to get QE working too...

System speccs:
Leo4allv3 10.5.4
Gigabyte GA-S55 motherboard
AMD athlon x2 2.1ghz 4000+
2gb RAM
Gigabyte radeon X1550 256mb ram
250gb sata

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid I have bad news!!

That specific chipset cannot be set to support QE/CI! The issue is around a seperate device ID being used for the secondary output.
If you edit the ATIRadeonX1000.kext and add the DeviceID to it, it is sure to give you a Kernel Panic! You can try but I had this specific card in my Dell and replaced it with a ASUS EN7300GS(256MB).

The alternative DeviceID for the secondary Output is 0x71A3, but you cannot get the system past the bootloader if you add anyone of the two to the ATIRadeonX1000.kext.

With all the kexts loaded and without the Ids added to the ATIRadeonX1000.kext you are able to set the resolutiong but still nothing works sad.gif

You download the it driver for 10.5.4 (Click to view attachment)
Unpack and click on load.command and in terminal write real password and run auto reboot.

Ok Bronya, i did as you told me... Opened the load.command in the terminal, wrote my password and the system rebooted...
Can't see any difference tho sad.gif

Did i do something wrong?

Thanks in advance!

It still says
Core image: Software
and
Quartz extreme: Not supported...

Could it be like SticMAN says, that the device ID aint supported?

Never mind my last post!! It's working now! Worked on my third reboot.. hehe smile.gif

Original can work .

Same problem for me. The kext file was installed and I rebooted the my computer. After the login screen my screen went black and I got sometime Light blue, dark blue, alternating lines like abeeson says. Any idea to fix it? I am new about the driver installition amd uninstallition so I can't disable the kext file and I can't use my leopard now. If anybody can say how can I disable the kext file I will be very happy and I can use my leopard witout QE/CI until the the problem solve. İf I can get QE/CI i can finally use the Leopard fully operational. By the way now I am using AGP ATI RadeonX1300 but the vendor ID and Device Id are same.

I installed the Kext NatitX1300.r1v1.Installer for my video card Radeon
X1550 512MB GDDR2 128-bit, but still without QE.

My old monitor could be impossible this feature (QE/CI)?

Radeon X1300 PRO Series:
Modelo do Grupo de Circuitos Integrados: Radeon X1300 PRO Series
Tipo: Monitor
Barramento: PCIe
Largura Lane PCIe: x16
VRAM (Total): 512 MB
Fornecedor: ATI (0x1002)
ID do Dispositivo: 0x7143
ID da Revisão: 0x0000
Monitores:

StudioWorks 560A:
Resolução: 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz
Profundidade: Cor de 32 bits
Core Image: Software
Monitor Principal: Sim
Espelho: Desligado
On-line: Sim
Quartz Extreme: Não Compatível
Conector do Monitor:

- It would be a matter of old monitor, or really my video card is not yet supported?
