A hacker, and a
member of our forums, has managed to get Mac OS X Leopard running on the MSI Wind. This is what jav had to say about getting it on his MSI Wind. It's translated from spanish.
QUOTE
Well, here it is. The new MSI Wind running Kalyway 10.5.2. I still have to make some adjustments, such as the resolution and the wireless card, but I couldn't stop myself from posting these images that I'm sure will get the interest from more than one person. Ethernet and Bluetooth work right out of the box, so I'm really expecting a lot from this small notebook.
All that and the MSI Wind isn't even going to be released until July 7th.
EDIT: It appears that the sound also works OTB. The resolution and wireless are the only things that we know of that don't work.

I am VERY impressed, congrats!
Im building my hackintosh right now and have been also eyeing small ultra-mobile notebooks because I do not need a disc drive. The EEE screen is too small, tne mini-note is too expensive, but I think this is juuuuuust right. Especially now OSX can run on it!
How stable is it and will it run everything?

Whats the integrated graphics? GMA 950? GMA X3100?
If its GMA950, it might need paulicat's natit.
This notebook looks to be pretty awesome.

According to this:

Yeah, GMA950 is quite the proverbial bitch. I am able to get full QE/CI and no artifacts on my VAIO, but only with paulicat's Natit. And even then, display out does not work.

Cool running, small and more than fast enough for office work and movies. I would like to see a review and hear about battery life but the Atom processor looks like a deal maker. Apple really need to respond to this.

Wow, incredibly lame move. My signature has been 'truncated'. How about a PM before deleting what took me a while to compile? Had I known signature rules have been set in place i would have gladly obliged.
Anyways, those Wind specs are pretty good.

Hmm, are you using 10.5.3? Which integrated framebuffer?
I am using 10.5.3 framebuffer and GMA950 files. I am able to plug EFI GFX strings, but i end up with only a blue screen. I think it has something to with recognizing my LCD screen, which I believe natit helps with.
EDIT: HAH ! well whatta ya know, I replaced the Integratedframebuffer with the one from iATKOS v 1.0i 10.5.1 removed Natit and viola! My GMA950 is working, including VGA-out

The wireless is an 8187 Right? Does it work with the realtek drivers?
Also what sound chipset does it use? What works and what doesnt?
Same question about the LAN, 4 in 1 card reader, Web Cam...
Also what about sleep, shutdown, and reboot?
Also does the battery indicator work!

I ask a alot I know. But I am about to sell my Extensa 5220 and want to make sure this will have a shot at working.

I think I'll be replacing my eeePC with one of these! It's specs are right on par with this super cheap hackintosh I built, and if I can get this kind of power in a small portable package then I'm sold! Tiger/Leopard just aren't usable on the eeePC lol.

Hi!
the MSI Wind will be released as a nearly identical device by Medion (or is released). I will buy one of these great machines tomorrow.
Are there some kind of instructions how to install OSX86 on this machine(s)? My main-machine is a MacBook Pro - so I normally use the "real" OSX - but running Mac OS on such a tiny "take everywhere" machine is GREAT - and I want to have it...
So - who is able and willing to provide help?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings

There aren't any instructions yet naturally, since the only person to have done it is a Spanish speaker person who hasn't really provided us with to many details. If you would only buy this machine if you could run OSX on it you might want to wait till a bit after the 7th(when it comes out in most places) when more people have got one and tried various fixes for the card reader and everything else that doesn't quite work yet.
Wifi is pretty much guaranteed though, as it's been confirmed in some video review that that that easy to remove looking chip is the wifi. so you can just throw in a dell card or something and it would work fine.

Here we go!
Just got mine today and whacked 10.5.2 (Kalyway) onto it.
I've got airport going with a Dell 1390 card. The inbuilt one RTL8187SE doesn't seem to work and I had to put more RAM in anyway.
The RTL8187SE is physically the same size as the Dell 1390, but it has the standoffs mounted halfway down the PCB as well as at the full size length.
I had to snap the middle standoff off the mainboard to get my chunky Dell 1390 to fit!
And it is working a charm!
QE and CI are all working with no issues. I am slowly compiling all my info into a text edit file and will upload to
http://wind-osx86.wikispaces.com/ later tonight I hope!
Video of it all in action at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQt205r8tsgEnjoy!
and yes the battery indicator is working

I think I'll put a video tutorial together as well. But that will have to wait until the sun is out. Too dark in my little home.

Stock Wi-Fi should be possible, not quite yet though as it seems the chipset isn't really used in anything except the Wind.
Power management reports % and time correctly. % in increments of 1% and to see the time remaining is GREAT.

I gave that a go, but all I get is nothingness. No sound at all. It populates System Profiler - which is nice. The options of output devices changes around a fair bit with each different kext used, but no sound on any of them except good old Azalia.
