Hey im planing on getting a macbook. And i was just wondering if anybody has tried Team Fortress 2 on a macbook with the x3100 lame intel video card. Does anybody know how it handels on VM? How about dual boot?
xandiztxu
Almost sure, no.

Since this games are projected under Nvidia and ATI. If it runs, will be slow and almost unplayable. But using Crossover, maybe via Bootcamp you get better results.

yeah i assumed the best results would require me to use boot camp which i would have no issues with. i was just curious if anyone had it working and what their experience with it was

Counter-Strike source will run smoothly, but TF-2 will require you to run in minimum graphics, and Direct X 8 mode and then it will still be quite slow, like 20fps.

Just google "team fortress 2" and "x3100"

aww that sucks. I really wish Nvidia would put some of their new low power cards on these macbooks. honestly intel sucks at making video cards. intel w/ video cards = epic fail sad.gif

I agree with the intel video cards = epic fail

Anyway I found performance with my Intel 950 GMA card with Source Games like Portal and Counter Strike: Source to be a lot better on OS X with emulation (crossover or Windows XP inside VMware Fusion Beta 2) then it is just under Windows XP or Windows Vista.
